Just an hour after we left to drive half way across the country, we realized we forgot all our toiletries. Two bags (small totes) worth. They did not merit the additional 2 hours it would have taken to turn around. So we drove on.
My, Erin, first thought...we can just buy replacements. Whoa, is that not an indicator of our culture or what? Not only did I expect to be able to re-acquire all that I now did not have, but I also knew that we would pass through multiple places where we could buy the same items. This was an interesting window into our culture and a beautiful reminder of how blessed we are with the resources and opportunities to replace the minor yet highly appreciated items we had left behind.
